Our Trainers

Born in 1977 in Ankara, Önen started her swimming career at the age of 6-7 with the guidance of her family, under the coaching of Mrs. Oleg at Petrol Ofisi Sports Club, one of the most established clubs of the time. Our head coach Esra Önen, who thinks that growing up with the Russian school has added a different discipline to her, says, “We embark on a journey full of discipline, excellence, determination and friendship as we strive to push the limits of our abilities and make a lasting impact on the swimming community.”

As an instructor who has experienced every aspect of swimming in different venues in her career, she worked as a coordinator at Ankara University Sports Club for 6 years.

Esra Önen is also one of the assistant coaches who worked as a coach at the Turkish Olympic Preparatory Center (TOHM) for many years and contributed to the training of young talents such as Merve Tuncel, Beril Böcekler, Deniz Ertan, Defne Taçyıldız, who can be considered as the golden generation in swimming.

Our head coach Esra Önen, who has been training many swimming enthusiasts from babies to adults, professional swimmers to triathletes for many years, also continues to compete in master swimming competitions organized in different cities every year.
